The Hot Section Inspection (Aeroderivative gas turbines) also known as a Hot Gas Path Inspection (Heavy Duty gas turbines), is a critical mid‑life examination/repair targeting components exposed to extreme temperatures and stress. These include the combustion chamber, turbine blades, nozzles, shrouds, and exhaust sections, all of which are crucial to reliable turbine performance
A hot section inspection is based on running hours or condition and might differ per type and configuration. Our engineers will disassemble, clean, inspect and replace parts as per agreed scope.
The inspection will not be limited to the hot section only, our engineers will pay attention to the remaining parts of the gas turbine as minor issues might result into serious damage.
In case a damage part has been noticed MFS can offer repairs or replacements from our large stock of high quality spare parts.
Additional to the inspection our engineers will perform a survey of the gas turbine package including the auxiliaries, enclosure and all related equipment in order to eliminate any possible issue during start-up, to make sure your gas turbine will continue delivering the expected power and performance.
A comprehensive Hot Section/Gas Path Inspection enhances gas turbine reliability, performance, and safety by focusing attention on the hottest and most stressed components. Whether scheduled or performance-triggered, this inspection is instrumental in avoiding unplanned outages and extending turbine life.
Our engineers have experience with both aeroderivative and heavy-duty gas turbines used in industrial and energy applications.
