Following hot-section repair of an LM2500 gas turbine, the reassembly process is conducted with strict adherence to OEM specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. The steps typically include:
Inspection & Pre-assembly Preparation
All repaired or replaced hot-section components—combustor, nozzles, high-pressure turbine blades and vanes—are inspected, cleaned, and dimensionally verified to ensure serviceability. Other modules are also checked for any wear or damage that could affect performance.
Module Reassembly
The hot‐section is reinstalled into the gas generator. Components such as nozzles and turbine blades are aligned and secured, ensuring correct clearances and sealing. Cooling passages, interfaces, and mounting surfaces are properly cleaned and sealed.
Balancing
Upon module installation, precision balancing is performed on the rotor assembly.
